A comeback of faith vs. Joventut Badalona to leave a perfect afternoon (101-97)
Valencia Basket could
not pay a better tribute to its eternal captain than a show of heart when
everything seemed lost to end up beating Joventut Badalona by 101-97. The
Taronja squad culminated in the extra time with a comeback of faith to make the
afternoon in which Rafa Martínez's number 17 went up to the roof of La Fonteta
perfect. Álex Mumbrú's men were ahead for most of the match but La Penya held
on to it with their 3-point accuracy to go four up with a minute and a half to
go. Getting second options, he got two free throws from Dubljevic to have been
able to win it in regulation time, but the second did not go in. In extra time,
Harper (24 points in his debut as a taronja) and Chris Jones (17) overcame
Guillem Vives' final display to seal the second win in the Endesa League.
